Scenario
The Jackal is an elusive assassin who makes his living by carrying out assassinations for the highest possible fee. The novel, Day of the Jackal, was set in 1963 and involved an assassination attempt on the then President of France, Charles de Gaulle.

The show moves the setting to the present day. Lashana Lynch is not a leading actress; in fact, I’ve seen much better performances at local amateur theater.

It’s a shame because she’s not at all convincing in her role. make our performances strong, but Lynch’s weak central performance ruins the show for me.
Her lack of authenticity makes you care less about her family issues
Plus, I really wish they hadn’t dragged the series out: there are too many filler scenes and storylines that don’t feel necessary or particularly relevant to the overall plot. I really hope the series continues with the additional episodes, but I don’t think it will do enough to redeem itself.
