Scenario
Supporting actor Willis Wu witnesses a crime in Chinatown while working on a TV show. During the investigation, he uncovers a criminal network and experiences the life in the spotlight he has always dreamed of. Yang), Fatty (Ronny Chieng), and Carl (Chau Long) see Detective Lana Lee (Chloe Bennet) on TV and discuss her possible ethnicity: Carl declares that she “looks Thai,” while Fatty argues that “Man, she’s clearly Korean. Know your Asians.” In real life, Bennet is the child of a white mother and a Chinese father.
The show is half procedural, half family drama
Early in her acting career, she changed her last name from Wang to Bennet (her father’s first name) after being approached by casting agents who said they couldn’t cast her for Asian or Asian-American roles, but her last name also excluded her from playing white characters. I’m on episode two and I’ll finally let you know when I watch the entire show. I can’t say yet if I like this show or not. Unfortunately, I like the family part more than the procedural.
The episodes could definitely be shorter
I’m sure it was supposed to be the other way around. There seems to be a lot of filler. The episodes are almost an hour long, but they really could have been done in 10 minute increments. I really like Jimmy Yang and the family dynamic, so I hope the show finds its rhythm.
I hope his mom shows everyone around her how great she is
It’s so depressing that her family, except for Jimmy, her son, sees her as insignificant. Sorry I’m not a very good writer, but I wanted to be the first to review, but someone beat me to it. Probably someone who has worked on the show since they gave it a 10. People on this site give 10s like they’re going out of style.

Sorry, but a movie like Chinatown or The Godfather Part II is a 10, not this. The new season of Silo is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
