After the untimely death of his father, a young boy is left in eerie solitude on a sprawling country estate with his recently widowed stepmother. His stepmother, struggling to cope with the daunting task of parenthood, withdraws, leaving their fragile bond in danger of collapsing. As tensions mount, the boy begins to hear disturbing sounds echoing through the halls and is soon stalked by a grotesque creature that bears an eerie, familiar resemblance to his dead father. As the boy’s warnings are dismissed as the imagination of a grieving child, the menacing entity tightens its grip on their crumbling lives.
